About the Webmistress

Emma Routh, 2007
Alias: Emx
Real Name: Emma
D.O.B 25 October 1983

I'm a babyfaced 24 year old from the United Kingdom - or England if you need a more specific geographical position. I live with Jimbo, my boyfriend of 2 years, and I'm currently working as a web designer for a large organisation.

My personality is a storm of contradictions, I'm easy-going yet quick to anger, friendly but scathingly sarcastic, an attention-seeker but occasionally shy. I'm also outspoken and opinionated, over-excitable, prone to long and heated rants about rubbish, overly-sensitive to the plights of the needy, a singstar, a bit of a drunken-terror and dare I say slightly witty... Well that's debatable I suppose.

I enjoy standards based web design, rock/alt music, animation, horror films, fantasy books, survival horrors, RPGs, Japanese dolls, digital art and photography - amongst other things...

If you enjoyed this condensed analysis of your webmistress, or if you at least read it all the way to the end without getting bored, you may want to visit Ashtraygrrl.com, my personal domain and blog, for more of my rants and ramblings.

I'm also a member of nearly every social network under the sun - I feel that as a web designer it's important to keep a finger on the pulse! Below are a list of the one I use most regularly. Please feel free to add me as a friend on any of them.

About the Domain

Originally I intended my fandom related sites to be housed at Ashtraygrrl.com, but I had a change of heart after that domain turned into a more personal project. So I decided to move all my fansites, shrines and fanlistings to a whole new domain.

As I have a trend of including the word "grrl" in all my domains that relate to my own personal interests, as a homage to the Riot GRRL movement of the early 90s, Fangrrl seemed the perfect name for my fan-girl-domain! One minor gripe is that I wanted the domain suffix .com, to match my other domains, but unfortunately it was already taken by a cursed domain-squatter! As was .net, so I went for .org instead... and I must say I'm quite liking it.

I'm hosted with Dreamhost, on the same hosting plan as my other 15 domains. My plan is completely unlimited, and I really couldn't be more pleased with the service they provide! If you're looking for a host, I highly recommend them.
